Welcome to Harrison High School's award winning, Industry Certified, Audio Video Technology & Film program!
Students develop skills in telling stories visually - through the use of cameras and editing. We cover everything from how to tell a story to how plan, record and edit the story for your audience's enjoyment. We'll teach you how to make everything from a good Vine video, to a commercial, to a short film, or award winning broadcast segment. We'll provide you with the tools and teach you the technique and you can take it from there! Pathway Completers have gone on to work for college networks, such as SEC Network, ESPN 3, and into the music production industry in Nashville, and some have even started their own businesses to help pay for college using the skills learned in this pathway. |

- Art O’Neill: Assistant Principal. Art oversees the Career Tech Dept. and is very supportive of our program.
- Katelyn Hoptroff: Harrison Guidance Counselor. Katie Hoptroff is beginning her fifth year at Harrison High School. Mrs. Hoptroff has a specialist’s and master’s degree in school counseling from the University of West Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia Southern University.
- Wendy Sultenfuss: Lost Mountain Middle School Media Specialist
- Gerald Smith: Producer of NBATV.com. Former producer of CNN Student News
- Ian Feinberg: Executive Director, Film Initiatives, Technical College System of Georgia
- Carlo Finlay: Academic Professional, Assistant Director of Grady Sports Media, Journalism
- Kris Burnett: Long-time friend; Writer, editor, and media producer for Hospitality Upgrade Magazine. Also a former producer at CNN.
- Donna Davis: Former news anchor and reporter. Before owning her own video production company, Donna worked for a network serving eight major news outlets in Florida, including the network affiliates in Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, and Orlando. She covered the capitol and provided nightly live reports. Donna also worked as the main anchor of Florida’s news channel in Tallahassee. Donna started Pro Video Talent because she saw the need for video in every aspect of communication.
- Lindsay Riley: Harrison HS an English Language Arts teacher who majored in Communication and worked for Coastal Carolina University's student-led radio station, WCCU Radio, and the Athletic Media Relations office. Lindsay will be helping with the journalistic writing for broadcast and our new "Harrison Online News" website for those students interested in developing their skills in writing for web/hard copy.
- Meredith Muse: Television Production Instructor at Chattahoochee Tech. A Florida State University graduate with a Bachelors degree in Communications, focus on Sports Media. I have worked in News as a Technical Director. TV Production High School teacher in Kissimmee Florida. Served as Assistant Director and then Director of Audio Visual Technology Services at Kennesaw State University. I fell in love with video production in middle school, creating documentaries for History Fair and I have been hooked ever since.
- Jeffrey Green: Served as producer, senior producer & vice president of production for daily and weekly program series; live remotes; studio and post-production projects and global sports news gathering operation. High profile production projects include Summer & Winter Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Masters, Super Bowl and World Series.

As in any occupation, it's important to stay on top of what's happening in the industry and network with other people in your field. Harrison's AVTF program and instructor keep the program connected with the industry through memberships in various organizations. Many of these offer great resources for video and film students.
