EVERYONE
It was good to see everyone for a couple of regular days last week. We were able to get started on some real work. This week we're off on Monday, so it will be another full week jammed into 4 days. In the meantime however, I hope you'll be able to enjoy the nice warm temps.

We'll be approaching a more normal week of broadcasting this week, with the exception of the Monday HARRISON TODAY episode, which we'll move to Wednesday because we aren't in HoyaBlock schedule just yet. HSPN will broadcast on Tuesday and HoyaVision Green Crew will broadcast on Friday.
ITEMS TO DO: 1. Producers/Directors: make sure your rundowns for this week's show are completely filled out - including the length of each segment. Shows must be 8 minutes and have scrolling credits at the end listing each position on the crew for the broadcast and who did filled them on this broadcast. Segments with assignments for following 2 shows. 2. WATCH & REVIEW: Wednesday: this week's HSPN episode. Thursday: Wednesday's HARRISON TODAY'S episode; following Monday: HoyaVision's episode. 3. Techies (Including Directors): XA-10 video to be uploaded to the Ga Share drive - found under the Content notebook - WE 1/20/17 tab 4. Talent (Including Producers): Compelling Story assignment - found under the Content notebook - WE 1/20/17 tab AVTF-2 & 3
AVTF-2: Our Partner Interviews should be completed and uploaded to the Ga Share Drop Box. This week, we'll continue working on our XA-10 project. This is due by Friday - with the video to be uploaded to the Ga Share Dropbox.
In addition to the XA-10, you will work in groups of 3 and create a 1:00 - 2:00 promotional video about the AVTF program. Preliminary video is due on 1/25 with the final video due on Friday 1/27. I will show the best videos at the 8th Grade Open House on Monday 1/30/17, as well as share with my Advisory Committee and use for Broadcast - Video Production Booster Club. The project will include: 1. A written proposal 2. Storyboard 3. VO script 4. Royalty Free music 5. Video footage can include archival footage from last semester's HoyaVision/HSPN/HARRISON TODAY shows. The purpose of the video is to "sell" the program and its capabilities so students ranging from 8th grade to Juniors will want to take the pathway and to the community so we can get some small video work for donations to our program. The proposal & storyboard are due by Thursday, Script by the following Monday, 1st pass by 1/25/17 and final video by 1/27/17. AVTF-3: We will be working on the XA-10 demo as well as the CTAE commercial and UGA Sponsored Mini-Dance Marathon commercial. We will also be reviewing the EOPA checklist on Friday. AVTF - 1
We will be finishing up our Photoshop Graphic Design assignment on Tuesday and will have the vocab quiz on Friday. Here's the link to the Photoshop Vocab
PHOTOSHOP VOCAB QUIZLET We'll also be learning about basic shot composition and rule of thirds with a photo assignment due on Friday. To make your videos (and photos) more interesting and help tell a story, using different angles and properly framing/composing your shots will be key. You will have an assignment on Thursday that will give you some valuable tips to accomplish this. (assignment for Thursday during class) Lastly we'll be learning more about SkillsUSA, the Career Tech Student Organization (CTSO) and the value it adds to your college and job applications and resumes. Here's an easy assignment for Thursday that will help familiarize you with SkillsUSA and what it can do: (assignment for Thursday during class)

Happy New Year! one and all! It's great to be back in the Spring semester of the 2016 - 2017 school year. I hope you all were able to enjoy the Holidays with family and friends.
Those of you who had me last semester, we'll be following similar workflows as last semester (Class Notebook, Journals, Show comments, Portfolio Websites, etc) with some tweaks & changes. Those new to the AVTF / BVP-APP (HoyaVision-HARRISON TODAY-HSPN) classes, we will be using MS Office 365's Class Notebook to handle most, if not, all, my "written" assignments. Here's a quick video tutorial on how to use Class Notebooks for this purpose:
AVTF CONTRACTS: Everyone will need to turn in a signed signature page (only) of the AVTF CONTRACT for this semester. Please do not turn in the contract with the signature page. That is YOUR copy so you know what you're agreeing to. Here's the link to the contract:
AVTF-HOYAVISION CONTRACT These are due by Monday, January 9, 2016 AVTF 2 & 3
