PARTNERING WITH LOST MOUNTAIN MIDDLE SCHOOL: This Thursday, I'll be out for the last part of 2nd period, first part of 3rd period as we help LMMS get their Video Production Club up and running. I'm hoping to build some skills early that we can tap into for the AVTF, HoyaVision/HSPN, Film Club, Motion Graphics Club programs. If you have ideas on what would be good for middle schoolers can work on that would help them, be sure to let me know! HOYAVISION - HSPN PER 1I hope you were able to get something from Ms. Kayla Rivera's visit. If so, I would ask that you send her a thank you note stating so. Nothing fancy, just a simple: Ms. Rivera, thank you for coming to visit. I liked what you had to say, especially ________. I will look to use it on my next show. Thank you again. I hope you can watch our shows and come back again. Sincerely, ________ Personal notes have gotten lost In the era of e-mail, but have a much longer impact. You can really set yourself apart with them. (pic) We are going to hit the ground running this week with Blue Crew starting us off. EDITING, TRANSITIONS, KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS FRIDAY - 9/13/19Unfortunately, we are still dealing with the issues from yesterday. Ms. Campbell is releasing to the Harrison Community this communique: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dear Hoya Family, Throughout the afternoon and evening of Thursday, September 12, our school and CCSD police continued to receive concerns about the safety of Harrison High School. Although no credible threat was ever made specifically against our school, students, or staff, CCSD Police did make contact with an individual who previously attended Harrison High School who had made vague social media posts. Their investigation confirmed what was communicated to you yesterday by email: no credible threat exists to Harrison High School. While rumors and facts were being sorted out yesterday, we did have additional security on campus for Thursday, September 12. As a visible sign of our awareness of parent and student concerns, additional officers are on campus today, Friday, September 13. It is heartbreaking that we live in a society where our students and parents are worried about potential safety threats, but please know that we take all threats seriously. We work closely with the CCSD Police and other agencies as needed and you will be told directly by me anytime an actual threat exists to the students or staff at Harrison High School. As long as a parent approves the absence from Thursday and/or Friday, student absence(s) will be excused and will not affect exam exemption. Please know that as a parent, you always have the right to keep your student home if you are concerned about your student’s health or safety, such as a situation related to weather or any situation that you believe could be unsafe. Our local school district recognizes this parent right, which is stated in our school board policy JB-R Subsection A, number 5. Click here to read the policy. To reassure our students, a special announcement was made during today’s morning announcements detailing some of this information. Following the morning announcement, administrators visited first-period classrooms to address any questions from students. The safety of our students and staff is always our number one priority. Thank you for your support as we all partner together for the success and well-being of our students. Sincerely, Ashlynn Campbell Principal, Harrison High School >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. That said, for those that are not here today, Friday, please remember that ALL Class Notebook assignments that are due today, Friday 9/13/19, are still due today. AVTF-1 & 2 videos will be due at the end of class on Monday, 9/16/19. AVTF-2 Vocab Quiz will be given on Monday. Thank you for staying vigilant and PLEASE be careful with the social media posts. You do NOT want your name associated with any posts - sharing, retweeting, etc. that deal with events like this. never forgetEVERYONEIt's going to be a great week!!
