INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM THE MASTER!
Tuesday, during C-Lunch I will have this on for the hour session. If you're interested in joining the session please let me know so I can ask your teacher if it will be OK.
EVERYONE
We have a number of things taking place this week. Most important is the FINAL PROJECTS ARE DUE, FRIDAY MAY 4TH!!
Everyone has the PORTFOLIO WEBSITE to build - which will include a reel consisting of a minimum 4 clips of your best video work, camera work, editing, talent on a segment/desk, show produced/directed, technical directed. The reel should be uploaded to YouTube - UNLISTED- and using the embed code on YouTube, embed the video onto your website. Here's the link to a video explaining how to do this:
Everyone will need to create a resume to post on the Employment page, regardless if you have any work experience to post. There's a link to resume sections on the PORTFOLIO WEBSITE document.
Please make sure: 1. EACH SECTION has it's own page. Don't include two sections on a page - even if there's room. 2. EMBED YOUR REEL: Do NOT simply put a link to your video forcing the viewer to go through extra steps to watch it. 3. CHECK YOUR SPELLING, GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION - The website could be your first impression with someone. You want to put your best foot forward. HARRISON TODAY - HSPN - HOYAVISION

The main focus for this week will be to complete our final projects: Music Video and Portfolio Website. The website information was addressed up at the top of this post.
Here's the link to the requirements and rubric for the Music Video: MUSIC VIDEO RUBRIC You'll be graded on your video pre-production: Proposal and Storyboard production: Camera Work post-production: Editing Be sure to upload your Proposal to your Class Notebook Be sure to take photos of all the pages of your Storyboard and insert those to your Class Notebook Once you finish all three of these elements and have finalized, exported your video and uploaded it to the GA Share Dropbox (like we do for all of our video projects), you'll need to complete the Self-Grade section of the rubric in your Class Notebook. Unfortunately I am booked immediately after school most days this week and will not be able to stay after school. I can come in early, however. I'm usually in by 7:30 each morning. If I need to be here earlier, please let me know as soon as possible so I can plan accordingly. AVTF-3 PER 4
Now that our EOPA is complete, we need to wrap up our final 2-person 1-2 minute video. It is due 5/18/18. The grade for this will be determined by the professionalism throughout the next 3 weeks. Please put your best foot forward.

EVERYONE
Hard to believe we're in the last week of April already. Please pay close attention to what needs to be done:
1. Accomplishing something on your story - every day. 2. Maintaining your professionalism for your weekly assignments: Pitch and Journal. 3. Work on your Final Projects EVERY DAY! They are due by end of day (3:35 PM) on May 4th. I'm booked filming that night and will not be able to stay after school. - ALL: Portfolio Website (pages and reel) - AVTF-1: Music Video 4. Ask for help if you need it - ASAP - Don't wait til next week to decide you weren't sure about something. That excuse won't count. Here's a video on how to "embed" your reel into your portfolio website. Please be sure to follow these instructions. You do not want your audience to have to download anything or wait on something just to watch your reel. NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO DO THIS AT HOME!!! (you don't have access to YouTube at school) AVTF-3
We will be taking our End Of Pathway Assessment this week. Please be sure to continue reviewing the EOPA Resources and Study Guides. The links for these can be found here:

Now that we've had plenty of practice over the course of the semester, we'll be recording the BTS of the Control Room and Studio during your shows - for performance reviews and reel footage. If you are not part of the broadcast crew, please watch the show from the classroom. Thank you!
Please be sure to review the shows' rundowns, segment status and scripts for upcoming shows at least 2 days before the show, the day before and one final time the day of. Please read the script out loud and listen for repetitive phrases, conversational, make the leads interesting and include teasers of upcoming topics as you toss to a commercial. HSPN: Please be sure to touch base, personally, with each of the Spring Sports coaches and a team member about the status, results, and upcoming events. Try to have a quote from the coach for each sport. HoyaVision: Please make sure you have the rundown finalized by end of class on Monday - with Plan B's for any questionable segments. They wouldn't have taken time out of their personal time off if they didn't feel strongly about helping us to build on what we're trying to accomplish. The students who attended truly impressed the journalists. I'm still receiving compliments about our students from the journalists. They will be watching our work and your development with interest. Thank you for representing yourselves so professionally. Here's a quick look at some of the photos of the day: EVERYONEWe're now in our final 6 weeks of the school year. Despite the temptation to coast to the finish line, make sure your name is associated with all you do. Do ALL of your assignments to the best of your ability. Make your segments ALL reel worthy. That said we ALL have our Portfolio Website to work on. Be sure to take a good look at each and every section of the Portfolio Website, make sure the entries represent your BEST. These sites are meant to be an asset for you regardless of your college or career pursuits. Make sure your reel has at least 4 submissions of your best work. There is no time limit. JOURNALS: I've updated the Portfolio Website entry and listed the sections. Check the Journal page under Contents in your Class Notebook for the latest version. Please use that copy.
