BTS FOOTAGE: I am recording behind-the-scenes footage of our broadcast that will be used in our AVTF Promo video that AVTF-2 is putting together. We will be including NAT sounds of the broadcast - please continue your professionalism during the broadcast in both the studio and control room. This week we'll be wrapping up our AVTF Promo videos. Please be sure we: 1. Open with exciting action - ideally from the control room opening a show. 2. When we show computers, we have Adobe software open on them. 3. When showing classroom computers, have students in the seats. 4. Be sure to point out the cool projects and opportunities available in this program. I'll make notes on the proposals - please make the proper adjustments. Final video is due on GA SHARE DROP BOX, named 2-FILASTNAME- PROMO VIDEO by 10/31/18. We'll also be entering the Cobb County Short Movie Extravaganza. AVTF-1 PER 3 & 4This week we'll be working on our FOLEY - MEGA MIND project. I'd like to wrap it up by Wednesday. 1. Please make sure that you transfer any and all sounds you recorded are transferred to the editor's project folder. 2. When creating your Premiere Project - be sure to hit BROWSE and select the Mega Mind project folder on the external drive. FINAL PROJECTSEveryone has final SUMMATIVE (weighted 35%) projects to work on. These are involved and take time to do correctly. Please make good use of the "free time" in class and work on your projects. They are all due on Friday, December 7th. Here's a list of projects by class: PER 1: BROADCAST CLASS: PORTFOLIO WEBSITE PER 2: AVTF-2 : PORTFOLIO WEBSITE, 5-7 MINUTE MINI-DOCUMENTARY PER 3: AVTF-1: PORTFOLIO WEBSITE, 2-4 MINUTE MUSIC VIDEO PER 4: AVTF-1: PORTFOLIO WEBSITE, 2-4 MINUTE MUSIC VIDEO All requirements are listed in the right column of my blog HARRISON TODAY - HSPN - HOYAVISIONGreen Crew will be broadcasting HARRISON TODAY (News/events) & HoyaVision (Celebrating the Harrison Community) this week along with HSPN - covering ALL things Harrison Sports. Please remember: 1. MANDATORY pre-show read through and rehearsal starts at 9:15 AM. ALL components and scripts are to be completed before 9:15 AM. 2. Pitches should be researched and planned out BEFORE recording on Flipgrid. They should be recorded BEFORE THE WEEK OF THE SHOW - unless approved by Producer (and me). 3. Follow the segment guidelines for pre-production and production. It helps with the quality of the segment. 4. Please sign out and return all gear back PROPERLY before the end of class each day. 5. Return all gear signed out overnight BEFORE 1st Period the following school day - regardless if you are at school or not. AVTF-2 PERIOD 2 The focus this week will be on filming and editing the first draft of your AVTF Promotional Video. A couple of notes: 1 Proposals - Intro Paragraph - NOT labelled. Written in paragraph form - follow the instructions provided - All other sections - CAN BE LABELLED (i.e. TEAM, PRODUCTION PROCESS, etc.) EXCEPT the conclusion paragraph. - TEAM and CRITICAL DATES can be in table form. - COST section should be in sentence form - straight forward - one number for whole project and summarizing what the client (me) will get for the money. - Conclusion Paragraph - NOT LABELLED! Written in standard conclusion paragraph format - SIMILAR to, but not exact reverse of intro paragraph. The last line should be to ask to be "selected" to make the video. First Draft of video should be done by Thursday to allow me time to watch and make suggestions to change. I only get one set of changes. Final Draft is due in GA SHARE DROP BOX by end of day next Tuesday, October 30th. AVTF-1 PERIOD 3 & 4We will be wrapping up lighting on Tuesday - editing our lighting skills video - make sure you edit the video YOU are setting up the lights and demonstrating skills. Label each skill(s) with a lower third title in the video. Render and upload to GA SHARE DROPBOX folder by Tuesday end of day.
We will have the LIGHTING VOCAB QUIZ on Tuesday, 10/23/18. Here's the link to the Quizlet study guide. Please review before Tuesday. LIGHTING VOCABULARY WORDS On Wednesday, we'll begin our Audio Unit. We'll learn about the various types of microphones, their pick up patterns, and how to use them. We'll try to take the AUDIO VOCAB QUIZ on Friday as I'll be out again next Monday and Tuesday for the SkillsUSA 2re Leadership Conference. We start our CCSME short film project next Wednesday. Please be sure to review the words on the following link: AUDIO VOCAB QUIZLET We'll wrap the week up with a fun exercise in FOLEY SOUND. Look it up - it's pretty cool! That project will wrap by next Tuesday, 10/30/18 end of class. IMPORTANT: WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME - PLEASE STAY FOCUSED AND ON TASK. WE DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO EXTEND DEADLINES. We should be looking to compile clips for our reel as well. BROADCAST This week, let's get back to basics: 1. Do the research before you pitch 2. Present your pitch - 2 sentence focus (make it personal and specific) 3. WHY would the audience want to watch this segment 4. Think VISUAL - what's your first and last shots? What will you get for b-roll 5. Do your show breakdown- what can we improve on and fix from the last show? 6. Practice - Practice - Practice, including the control room and floor director view. AVTF-2 PER 2 This week we'll be starting our "corporate video" project. We'll reply to the Request For Proposal (RFP) for a video highlighting the AVTF program and new location. It should: 1. Be 2-4 minutes long 2. Highlight a. The new location and layout. b. The gear, including new control room and studio gear. Computers and software used. c. The cool projects in all levels. d. The opportunities available by being enrolled in the program. 3. Follow the sections in the template 4. Final video is due on Tuesday, 10/30/18 AVTF-1 PER 3 & 4 This week we'll be learning about lighting and how to use lights to make your video better. We'll have the LIGHTING vocab quiz next Tuesday.
