Hello Everyone! It's hard to believe March will arrive this week! Don't forget this is a leap year, so there's a February 29th this year. I'm currently watching the Pre-Oscar Show and all the behind the scenes footage. I'm sure I'll be watching the camera angles, imagining the behind-the-scenes of the LIVE production and appreciation of what everyone is going through and appreciating what our Broadcast class goes through for their LIVE performances. Synergy has opened up and I'm catching up and entering in the grades. Please have patience as I strive to get everything put in. Past due grades will be entered last. Want to share a HUGE shoutout to HARRISON TODAY crew members, Jared Kilpatrick & Caroline Kratina for their efforts and representation of Harrison High School, as members of the Press Corp covering the Marco Rubio Rally on Saturday. AVTF-1
We're wrapping up our Lighting Unit by finishing our Lighting Worksheet and uploading the video on Monday. Tuesday we'll begin a new unit: Audio with a special guest speaker, Timothy Jones, current President of the Audio Engineering Society (http://www.aes.org/sections/view.cfm?section=119). If you have any interest in music creation, mixing, editing, and sound creation in general, Mr. Jones is a good person to know. This unit will include everything from types of microphones, HOW to use them, elements of good audio, how to edit audio in Premiere and Audition. We'll also have some fun with FOLEY SOUND. We will have a vocab quiz next week, but here's the link to the words - we'll go over these on Wednesday: AUDIO VOCABULARY We will also be looking at a career in the Audio Industry. Please complete the following document in the Classnotebook: FOLEY ARTIST CAREER WORKSHEET Our project - creating FOLEY SOUNDS will be assigned later this week and will be due next week. We're now at a part of the semester where we'll start to focus on our final project: our Music Video. We'll go over the Pre-Production that will need to take place for your final project.

Welcome back! I hope you all were able to relax, rest and enjoy the break.
I was able to catch up on all the grading and get ready for the next 6 weeks. A couple of thoughts from the first 6 weeks: 1. Please be sure to complete and turn in the assignments on time. There's the potential for a lot of unstructured time during our classes because they are more project based. Use that time wisely and develop your time management skills. 2. Remember the 5 R's, especially HAVE SELF-RESPECT: DON'T LET YOUR NAME BE ASSOCIATED WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN YOUR BEST. 3. Grades are finalized at 8AM on Monday, 2/22. I'll input any make up grades after Synergy re-opens. Moving forward. We have a number of opportunities coming up soon: SKILLSUSA: Our Harrison Chapter earned a trip to the State Competition. We wish them luck as they represent Harrison's first, of hopefully many, State competitions. HOYAVISION / HARRISON / HSPN: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS!
