remote learningWell it's a reality. We're closed until further notice. There is an expectation that we will continue our learning and my hope is that this will allow us to NOT have to extend the school year. The way to make this happen is to stay on top of our work and to continue to make progress. I'll be using the blog to provide some overview of what will be covered each week for each course. Assignments, study guides will be posted in the Class Notebook. I'll be including links to YouTube videos among others to serve as demonstrations and articles to read for explanations. Quizzes will be given via Microsoft Forms via Class Notebook. I also will still be looking for videos to be made and submitted to my Google Drive. They will be short ones for the assignments. As far as editing is concerned there are a couple of apps that you can use on your smart phone...with your school Adobe account login (I think - I can do it on my phone). They're not Premiere per se, but it will allow us to create some videos. Adobe Rush and Adobe Clip. Both allow you to add videos from your phone, add text, music (or VO) and transitions. AND they can sync with CC ... meaning they can be opened by Premiere when we come back. I'd like for all of you to give it a try for next week. If you have any questions regarding assignments or material, please feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected]. Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we work through this. GREAT WEEK LAST WEEK!
COOL THINGS THIS WEEK
EVERYONETHANK YOU to all who donated reams of paper for the Davis Direction Foundation. We're able to donate almost 70 reams of paper! That is awesome. It's time to start working on our final projects - AVTF-1: 2-4 minute Music Video; AVTF-2: 5-7 minute mini-documentary. EVERYONE (AVTF-1, 2, 3, HoyaVision-HSPN) needs to produce a PORTFOLIO WEBSITE. I will be going to the spreadsheet produced by this form to grade your website. If it's not listed on THIS spreadsheet, it's not turned in: SPRING 2020 PORTFOLIO WEBSITE LINK The form needs to be completed by this Friday. The website doesn't need to be done until May 1st, but the address needs to be listed on the spreadsheet by this Friday, 3/6/2020. HOYAVISION - HSPNIt's MARCH MADNESS for NCAA Basketball AND HoyaVision Broadcasts! YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBER MARCH CHALLENGE: We currently have 112 subscribers to our HoyaVision TV channel. Can we get to 150? Let's do it! YOUTUBE VIEW MARCH CHALLENGE: Let's see who can get the highest viewed episode, with a minimum bar of 100 views for shows streamed March 2 through March 27th. That will give all crews 4 episodes. I'll buy donuts for the winning crew. Keys to a good show: Good stories, Good hook, Promotion, Making it about your audience - more than us. Tuesday will be a big day for us as we host the interview with LV Raiders TE Darren Waller and Davis Direction Foundation CEO, Missy Owens. avtf-2This week we'll be recording and posting our 5:30 radio news/podcasts as part of our AUDIO - AUDITION unit. In addition, we'll verify our Portfolio Websites and start to develop plans for our Mini-Documentaries. avtf-1Last week we learned about the basics of lighting. To make sure we are comfortable working with lights, we will build one more 3 point light set up in the studio, using the 3 mobile lights. The videos showing you doing this will be posted to the GA Share drive by the end of day on Friday. In addition to demonstrating one more time, we'll learn about the job of the GAFFER, chief lighting person on set. We'll also be setting up our Portfolio websites so we can submit the link on the form. AVTF-3We'll be wrapping up our teacher videos and reviewing in class to see what we did really well and what we need to continue working on.
We'll be resurrecting our Portfolio Websites so we can enter them onto the form. This week we'll be diving into the EOPA Prep. We'll create simple exercises to help us practice the items so we're comfortable with them by the time of the exam. |
