HOYA BLOCKYou ALL need to sign up for a Hoya Block by tomorrow. Here's the info that was sent to me with the details: Please remind your advisement students to register for a Hoya Block course this week.
EVERYONEEVERYONE: The short week last week was a nice way to ease into the school year. Thanks to all those who listened and started on the right foot by sending the e-mail, returned the signed contract, took the time to correct the warm up, etc. It’s a great start and will be key to get into the habit of making good use of the free time to get things done. This week we’ll start to take a closer look at the professional skills we will need to really associate our names with our best. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of making a good first impression. APPLICATIONS FOR THE SPRING 2020 HOYAVISION-HSPN are available NOW in Mr. Phelps’s room and the Hole in the Wall. Please check the POSITION DESCRIPTIONS SKILLUSA: Applications for the upcoming year are being accepted. Annual dues are $35 and include a t-shirt. If you sign up by 9/13/19, your dues will only be $25. For more information on what SkillsUSA can do for you, check out: www.skillsusa.org and www.skillsusageorgia.org HOYAVISION - HSPN PER 1This week we’ll continue to establish our crew routines and spell out the expectations. Remember, we are the school’s storytellers. Our mission is to identify, celebrate and share the stories of our Harrison community. Because we are a video broadcast, it’s important that we use video and audio to help tell the story. We’ll begin learning and refreshing our camera skills as well as really focusing on WHAT we can record to help tell the stories. The key is always making sure we have enough b-roll that is associated with our story. We’ll have an assignment that we can use to help us identify what we can use for b-roll. AVTF-2 PER 2We’ll be working on our camera knowledge and skills with the XA-10’s. We’ll also go over a quick refresher on our Premiere Pro project skills. AVTF-1 PER 3 & 4This week we'll be learning some of the professional skills and professional organizations that are excellent for you to join.
We'll also start looking at framing and shot composition to help tell stories.
