everyoneHello! My apologies for the delay in getting this out. This will be a short update with all the things going on. For everyone, just a reminder, attendance and the grade book are both now in effect. Please make sure you get your assignments in on time. If you're having ANY difficulty, PLEASE contact me and let me know. I'll help you in any way I can. ADOBE LICENSING: Named-User licenses have been processed for students. The students can go to https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html and click to download the Creative Cloud app. Anywhere Adobe ask them to login they will need to use their CCSD Office 365 login ([email protected]). Once installed, they can use the CC desktop app to install CC components as needed. I recommend downloading RUSH for the phone and desktop, then Premiere Pro. Here's a link to a tutorial on using Adobe RUSH: ADOBE RUSH TUTORIAL Rest of this week: Sadly my mother passed away this afternoon. I'll be assigning some lessons and videos to keep you up to speed. While I had hoped to be seeing you in person for the opening of classes, we will make the best of it and look forward to when we can meet face to face. We had hoped to use CTLS as our "command center" / blog as we start, but as we got closer to Monday, my CTLS started acting up, so I'm going to use this for the time being. I'll continue to use both once we're up and running just to make sure you're informed of what we're doing. A little bit about me: I'm from Buffalo, NY - moved here in 2004. I married my high school sweet heart, we have 2 grown boys and 5 grandchildren. I live and breathe Buffalo sports, Bisons (AAA affiliate for the Blue Jays), Sabres, and of course the Bills! I like to eat and miss real Buffalo wings and Beef on Weck. I really miss good, old fashioned, lake effect snow! I've been teaching for 12 years and have been here since 2011. I think I've finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up, and this is it. I LOVE what I do!! My slant is more towards broadcast but am getting more into the film part of video production. As far as teaching, I treat this like a job and I'm here to train you to be a video producer for hire. These days, people are willing to pay pretty good for good videographers and editors. I'm always looking for opportunities to put you in a position where you want to be. I've had students who've started their own companies as high school students! I hire some of my best videographers to help me film sports and I pay pretty well. I've had students film for MLB Network, ESPN for the ESPN 300 Elite football combines, to name a few. My goal is to help YOU figure out what you may want to do and help you get there. OK, the business at hand, how will this work this semester. I plan on using CTLS as the command center. That's where we'll check in, run our classes out of and post resources. I'll also continue to use this blog to highlight what we'll be doing. Check both, but go to CTLSLearn.cobbk12.org for your class. Until things settle in I will need to get info to you and will use Remind. PLEASE sign up for your class below: 1ST PERIOD - HOYAVISION-HSPN 2ND PERIOD - AVTF-1 3RD PERIOD - AVTF-1 4TH PERIOD - AVTF-2 office 365 log inCobb County is an O365 District, so it's very important that you learn your Office 365 login. You'll be using this login for: CTLS Learn, Class Notebook, Flipgrid, Adobe Production Premium CC, etc. , all key programs for this pathway. In addition to CTLS, I will be using Class Notebook for the written assignments for my class. Please check the right sidebar for the link to your class' Class Notebook. I'll be going over how we'll use it on Monday or Tuesday. online class schedulesHere's the schedule we'll be following. Please be sure you set your timers, reminders, etc. We'll be taking attendance. PLEASE SIGN UP FOR REMIND! For our online live sessions, you may want to have a school appropriate background active for the session so we don't see whatever room you're in. have fun!!I know this is a lot of business stuff, but once we get the routine down, I'll be looking forward to seeing what we can do and how far you can take your skills. Let's have fun!
Please contact me at: [email protected] or through Remind with ANY questions, concerns, or to keep me posted. That will be key. See you Monday!! |
