The PSAT's will be administered on Wednesday, October 19th. With the recently re-vamped SAT's this past Spring, this will provide a good basis on where your strengths as well as areas you may be struggling with. Here's a link to a great preparation site that will help you prepare for the PSAT and SAT.... PSAT/NMSQT: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/official-student-guide-psat-nmsqt-2016.pdf
We are "hiring" for next semester's shows! Please pick your application up at the Media Bldg or at the Hole In The Wall, complete both sides, sign and turn back into Mr. Phelps at the Media Building. Interviews for Producers & Directors will begin soon.
EVERYONE
I want to thank everyone for your honest, well thought out, comments on the broadcast shows. The crews have found them to be very illuminating. We will continue with this exercise each week going forward. The Broadcast crews will be selecting 1 comment each to reply to, so be sure to check your previous comment to see if yours was replied to. Here's the format I'd like for you to follow. Please be sure to include at least a sentence from each category: 1. Acknowledge a positive aspect or segment about the show. Be specific. Example: On the 09/23/16 HARRISON TODAY episode, I like how you updated us on the latest game and match results for the Freshman and JV teams on Thursday. 2. Build on what they were trying to show by adding personal experience. Example: Varsity seems to get all the attention, it's nice that you take the time to recognize the Freshman & JV teams. I know some of my friends play on JV, and it really helps build their confidence. It would be nice if you would do the same for the other sports as well. 3. Concluded with a critical thinking or Socratic question to the individual or crew. Example: What do you think about doing an interview with some of the JV players as part of the segment? Each AVTF level and Broadcast Crews will be assigned a show to review using the A-B-C Method above. The reviews are to be posted in the comment section of this week and is due by end of day on Friday. Here are this week's assignments:
