WELCOME BACK!!I hope you were able to enjoy the break with family and friends (at an acceptable social distance) over the break. everyoneI will continue to post info and assignments on Class Notebook on a weekly basis. I will try not to give a lot so as to allow us to wrap things up by Thursday each week. While I will assign a Thursday due date, I'll allow the assignments to be turned in by Friday. May I suggest you give some of these projects a shot to give you something fun to do and to continue to hone your skills. It can only help your grade. EXTRA-CREDIT OPPORTUNITY Please consider creating a short video of thanks to the medical staff on the front lines of this covid-19 crisis. Check your Class Notebook for details. HOYAVISION - HSPNWe're still producing stories and I've heard from some families that they look forward to seeing the articles and segments. Please continue to share. Green Crew and HSPN will be submitting stories this week. Blue Crew, please start pitching your ideas and preparing your segments for next week. Everyone, please look to include video footage from Facetime, Zoom, etc. in your video pieces. Articles should be written in paragraph form rather than interview transcripts. Again, thank you for your telling the stories. You are recording history and something that you will take with you for the rest of your life. Let's go tell some stories. AVTF-2Thanks to those who submitted their PSA's the Friday before the break. I'll be looking at them this week. Moving forward, I want to "play", have some fun with videos and honing our skills. I've posted a 3 video assignment to take us the rest of the way. Looking for simple storyboards and :30 second to 1:30 videos using whatever you have to film and edit. Speaking of editing, I was reminded that DaVinci Resolve offers a free video editing software online. Check it out. AVTF-1Prior to the break, we were putting together our pre-production for a corona virus PSA. This week, I'd like to film and edit the PSA. It's going to be an interesting final 6 weeks for us. I typically start our Broadcast Unit around now. It's one of my favorite units and gives the students an awesome hands-on opportunity to learn and work on some professional gear. We'll still be covering the unit, but in a much different way. I'll be looking to give you some virtual looks at the industry and meet some of the pro's in front of and behind the camera. I hope you can join us. avtf-3Some of you had checked in asking about our EOPA's for certification. As of this past Friday, there has been no determination about EOPA's. That said, I'm still looking to prepare us as best we can. The past two weeks we focused on the pre-production portion of the material. This week we'll be focusing on the production portion - specifically lenses and filters.
Aside from prepping for our EOPA, let's have some fun with making videos! I've posted an assignment to cover 3 videos to take us the rest of the way. Let's go challenge ourselves to make some great videos!
