WELCOME BACK EVERYONE! I'm pumped about the new semester and hope you are as well. I can't wait to meet all of you and share my passion of creating videos & broadcasting with you. Here's a couple of key things everyone should be aware of: 1. I'll be using Office365 and One Drive (included with Office365) for submitting assignments. Office365 is provided for free and supported by the Cobb County School District. If you didn't already take advantage of the offer, it's not too late. Your parents will need to contact our front office at 678-594-8104 to obtain the link for your copy. I would ask that they give permission to access OneDrive, the online storage (similar to Google Drive). Here's a link to the instructions: http://www.cobbk12.org/centraloffice/instructionaltechnology/ 2. As a Career Tech course, we are continually working to make you college and career ready. To that end, I will need to get your contact info. I would also like to get your parents' contact info as well. Please complete this form before the end of class on Friday: STUDENT/PARENTS CONTACT INFO 10 Extra Credit points for complete and accurate info by end of class on Wednesday, 5 Extra Credit points if turned in by Thursday. Ultimately due by Friday. 3. Safety in the classroom, just as in the workplace, is of utmost concern. We all will be reviewing our Safety Rules and taking the safety test on Friday. Here's a link to the Safety Rules: SAFETY RULES 4. Just as many jobs in the real world, we also have a contract. I will need to have a contract signed by you and your parents. Here's the link to the contract: AVTF - HOYAVISION/HARRISON TODAY CONTRACT AVTF-1: In addition to Safety, we will be learning about SkillsUSA, the Career Tech Student Organization. No matter what field you choose for a career, networking and occupational organizations are always important. Here's a link to the worksheet: SKILLSUSA "SCAVENGER HUNT" I'd also like to see what you can do videotaping a self-intro on your smartphone. Here's the link to the assignment: SMARTPHONE "SELFIE" INTRO AVTF-3 We will be working on two separate projects for outside "clients": 1. HARRISON HIGH SCHOOL video. 2. ATLANTA KNIGHTS PROMO video. HARRISON TODAY / HOYAVISION HARRISON TODAY will begin broadcasting on Wednesday and will pre-record its shows the day before. HoyaVision will begin covering the sports teams and develop the show outlines for January and February. Show outlines will include: 1. Announcements: Quick overview of what will be happening on Friday and the weekend. Announce the Student of the Day. (see link to spreadsheet). 2. "Hoya of the Week" (or similar): Celebrating someone from within the Harrison Community 3. Community: Highlighting a community member. (i.e. restaurants, entertainment, music, etc.) 4. Fun (must tell a story - beginning, middle, end) 5. HSPN: Sports coverage - must cover all teams in season - highlighting sport/athlete each week.
