EMPLOYABILITY SKILL: EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION - ACROSS ALL FORMS. Based on my experience and talking with employers at all levels, the ability to effectively communicate is one of the most lacking in new hires - high school AND college. Over the years, the forms of communication have increased from speaking face to face and writing, to include writing, e-mails, and social media. The better you are at properly using all of these to communicate, the better you will be. GRADES CLOSE ON FRIDAY - USE YOUR TIME WISELY HOYAVISION - HSPNGREAT SHOWS last week! We figured out the extra steps of prep to make sure the shows get to the school. We added some additional elements and lots of energy to the shows and it paid off! We had lots of compliments come in from students and faculty. All shows are up on our YouTube channel - HoyaVision TV. As of 2/8/20, we have 70 subscribers. Let's promote our shows and channel and see if we can get to 100 before the break. AVTF-2 PER 2Now that we've gotten familiar with the different cables, connectors and data transfer protocols, we'll move into creative lighting. We'll refresh our knowledge of the basic lighting scheme and move into more cinematic lighting to help our videos stand out. There is a homework assignment that will require you to become familiar with your home outlets and circuit breaker box. You will be calculating the power needs of a light set up and determining whether it would trip a circuit breaker. We'll also review the requirements for our final project: 5-7 minute mini-documentary. AVTF-1 PER 3In the first five weeks, we've been introduced to Production (filming), Post-Production (editing), and now we'll be introduced to Pre-Production - the planning of our videos. The better we do with pre-production, the easier our production and post-production will be and the better our videos will be. We'll also go over the requirements for our final project, 2-4 minute music video. AVTF-3 PER 4Most of our customers have their proposals. We need to make sure they all have them as quickly as possible. This week we should be wrapping up our production (filming) of any interviews and b-roll so we can deliver the first draft when we return from break.
