Hello everyone! It's beginning to feel like Spring and that means Spring Break is not far away - nor is the end of the semester. It'll be important that we stay focused and manage our time wisely. We would like to thank Mr. Timothy Jones, Chairman of the Atlanta Chapter of the Audio Engineering Society (@aesatlanta, www.aesatlanta.org) AVTF-1: This week we'll be working on our Mastermind Foley project. We'll learn how to use digital audio recording devices and microphones to record the various sound effects, dialogue, etc. We'll also learn how to use Garageband to record Voice Overs. We'll have our Audio Vocab quiz on Friday. Here's the link to the vocab words: AUDIO VOCAB WORDS As part of our ongoing understanding of the various careers associated with the units studied in this course, we occasionally complete a simple worksheet about a career. This week's career focus is: BROADCAST SOUND ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN. Here is the link to this week's worksheet which will be due by end of class on Friday: BROADCAST-SOUND ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN WORKSHEET Lastly, we'll start to ramp up our preparation on our final project: Music Video. We'll look at the lyrics, proposal and storyboards - worth more than 30% of the final project grade. See the sidebar on the right, under AVTF-1 for links to the pre-production rubric and proposal elements. The pre-production should be targeted for completion and pitched by Friday, 3/25/16. AVTF-3: We'll be working on the H2O HD Water PSA - it's due by the end of the month. We'll also be taking a closer look at the EOPA - focusing on lenses and DSLR's. Please check the EOPA resources in the sidebar on the right, under AVTF-3. In addition to the PSA Contest and EOPA preparation, we need to work on our PORTFOLIO WEBSITE. You should already have one from AVTF-2 or HARRISON TODAY/HoyaVision/ HSPN. This will need to be updated with your latest academic, community service projects, jobs, and of course, your latest NEW reel from what you're working on. The link to the rubric is also in the sidebar on the right. HARRISON TODAY / HOYAVISION / HSPN: We will be wrapping up interviews for Producers & Directors for the crews. Decisions on the format (1 crew vs 2 crews), will be made based on the quality of Producers & Directors applying as well as the number of applicants for the crews. We will have at least a HARRISON TODAY and a HoyaVision crew and possibly an HSPN Team. Any more than that will depend on the applications. Please get them in ASAP. Applications are located in the Hole In The Wall and in the Media Bldg. Job descriptions and talent audition requirements can be found in the sidebar. We're continuing to work on our "Conversation Segments". 1:30 - 2:00 minute segment. Must have minimum 10 minute raw footage, multi-camera shoot conversations are due next week, March 18th. We should also start to look at the various segments / shows that we have done since March 16th of last year til present to submit for consideration for the Emmy Southeast Student Achievement Awards. Lastly, we need to work on our PORTFOLIO WEBSITE. If you should already have one from AVTF-2, 3 or HARRISON TODAY/HoyaVision/ HSPN, this will need to be updated with your latest academic, community service projects, jobs, and of course, your latest NEW reel from what you're working on. The link to the rubric is also in the sidebar on the right. If you haven't created a professional portfolio website as of yet, you will need to create one. The details are included with the rubric in the sidebar on the right.
